Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for Production Kit

Effective date: July 15, 2026

Production Kit ("the App") is developed and operated by Midnight Drive-In LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and the choices you have.

We built Production Kit so that your data stays in your own accounts. We do not operate servers that collect or store your production content, we do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or cross-app tracking. The sections below describe this in detail.

1. Summary

  • Your work in the App (budgets, projects, scripts, contacts, schedules, and similar content) is stored on your deviceand, through your own Apple iCloud account, synced across your devices.

  • If you choose to connect Google Drive, the App can create and open files in your own Google Drive. We never receive a copy of your Drive contents.

  • We do not collect analytics, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or services.

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

2. Information the App Handles

Content you create. Budgets, call sheets, projects, scripts, whiteboards, contacts, release forms, payment records, and other materials you enter are stored locally on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, in your Apple iCloud account.

iCloud sync and collaboration. The App uses Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) to sync your data across your devices using your Apple ID. If you use the App's collaboration features, the specific projects, budgets, or reports you choose to share are made available to the people you invite, through Apple's iCloud sharing. This data resides in Apple's iCloud infrastructure and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Google account and Google Drive (optional). If you sign in with Google to use Drive features, we access your basic Google profile information (such as your name and email address) to sign you in, and we request the narrow drive.filepermission. See Section 3 for full detail.

Contacts (optional). If you use the Rolodex or call-sheet import features, the App accesses contacts you select or import in order to add them to your project data within the App. This information is processed on your device and stored with your App data; we do not upload your contacts to any server we operate.

Photos and camera (optional). If you attach images to releases, whiteboards, or project files, the App accesses your camera or photo library only for the images you choose. These images are handled as part of your App content described above.

Location for call sheets (optional). When you generate a call sheet with weather and daylight information, the App sends the shoot location's coordinates to third-party weather and sunrise/sunset services (for example, wttr.in and sunrise-sunset.org) to retrieve forecast and daylight data. Only location coordinates are sent for this purpose — no personal identity is transmitted.

App settings. The App stores your preferences and settings (such as layout and tool order) on your device.

3. Google User Data

This section describes how Production Kit accesses and uses data from Google APIs.

What we access. With your permission, Production Kit uses:

  • Your basic Google profile information (name, email address) through Google Sign-In, to authenticate you.

  • The drive.file OAuth scope, which grants per-file access — the App can only see and manage files that you specifically create or open with Production Kit. It does not grant access to your other Google Drive files.

How we use it. We use this access solely to let you store, organize, package, and retrieve your own production files in your own Google Drive, at your direction.

How we store it. Files you save to Google Drive remain in your Google Drive account. Production Kit does not copy, transmit, or retain your Google Drive contents on any server operated by us. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using the operating system's secure storage.

How we share it. We do not share, sell, or transfer Google user data to third parties.

Limited Use. Production Kit's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your use of Google Drive is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described above only to:

  • Provide the App's features and store your work;

  • Sync your data across your devices via iCloud;

  • Enable collaboration with people you choose to invite;

  • Package and retrieve your files in your connected Google Drive;

  • Populate call sheets with weather and daylight information.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.

5. How Information Is Stored and Shared

Storage. Your content is stored on your device, in your Apple iCloud account, and — if you connect it — in your Google Drive account. We do not maintain a separate server-side copy of your content.

Service providers. The App relies on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Apple iCloud — device sync and collaboration (Apple Privacy Policy);

  • Google — Sign-In and Google Drive (Google Privacy Policy);

  • Weather and daylight providers (e.g., wttr.in, sunrise-sunset.org) — receive shoot-location coordinates only, to return forecast and sunrise/sunset data.

Sharing with others. When you use collaboration features, the projects, budgets, or reports you explicitly choose to share are accessible to the people you invite. You control what you share and with whom.

No sale of data. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use advertising networks or cross-app tracking technologies.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Because your data lives in your own accounts and on your device, you remain in control of it:

  • Delete individual items or content within the App;

  • Remove synced data through your Apple iCloud settings;

  • Remove Production Kit files from your Google Drive at any time;

  • Revoke the App's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions;

  • Uninstalling the App removes its locally stored data from that device.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data stored in iCloud and Google Drive is protected by those providers' security systems, and authentication tokens are held in your device's secure system storage. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Production Kit is a professional tool intended for use by adults in the film, television, and commercial production industry. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will address it.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You can access, correct, or delete your content directly, since it resides in your own device and accounts (see Section 6). Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including rights to access or delete personal information. Because we do not store your content on our own servers, most such requests are fulfilled through your own device, iCloud, and Google account controls. If you have questions or wish to exercise a right, contact us using the details below.

10. Third-Party Services

The App interoperates with Apple, Google, and the weather/daylight services described above. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties' services, which are governed by their own privacy policies. The App may also display informational links to government and industry reference websites (for example, state labor and film-office resources); we do not send your personal information to those sites.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and post the updated policy at this page. Material changes will be indicated clearly.
